Fabien Moalic aka Fabi'
Fabien got infected by the"wine virus" while studying hospitality back in France where he is originally from.
He worked as a chef and waiter before falling in love with "Sommellerie" and building his experience with some of France most influential professionals (Paul Bocuse, Jean François Piège, Phillipe Labbé...).
After a few years at some of Paris best establishments, he decided to pack his bag and experienced the terroir down under to develop his knowledge in the "New World" wine,
Within a few days of his arrival, Fabi joined the team at Philippe Mouchel's PM24, it didn't took him long to develop a soft spot for Melbourne City and Australian viticulture
In the following years he kept building his experience along George Calombaris at The Press Club, as Head Sommelier where he extended his knowledge in Greek wines and culture.
Scott Picket was the next chapter of his Melburnian adventures from Head sommelier to Restaurant Manager.
10 years later, Frenchy became Australian!
His next journey lead him to join hospitality legend, Rabih Yanni and the team at Melbourne's institution The Botanical Hotel.
Somm Things came up naturally after a forced carrier pause due to a Motorbike accident. He wanted to build a platform to share his passion for wine and make it accessible and affordable to everyone.
